One of the two most facscinating visits were at the ruins of one of the many churches in Tunisia, where only the foundation still remains. Behind it as a backdrop is the presidential mosque.
The next 2 pictures here are where they would take new believers down into the tunnel which led to the baptistry (circle of stones on the ground where Reece is standing), baptize them, sing a hymn and send them out of a tunnel on the other side where the church would be waiting for them in celebration of the "picture" they just experienced.
The second was at the Coloseum ruins, in disaray after years of abuse and an earthquake. It was here that Perpetua and Felicita (and others) were martyred. You can read about them in Foxe's Book of Martyrs or any of the countless web sites found on the net. It was an awesome experience as we recounted the final days there.
